In KRAKATAU clothing, more than 80% of the polyester fabrics are created from recycled raw materials. We use down for our down jackets because of its unique thermal insulation properties, but we blend it with recycled polyester, reducing down consumption by 50%, while maintaining a high level of fill power (670FP). The down in KRAKATAU garments is certified to the Responsible Down Standard (RDS). This independent standard, adopted worldwide, monitors the living conditions of animals. For example, RDS prohibits the plucking of live birds and force-feeding.
